Word lists for the ACT, SAT, and GRE — and a log for the words you meet in practice.

Three searchable word lists, one per test, with definitions, example sentences, difficulty tags, and a study mode. Words learned from a sentence you have already read stick better than words learned from a list, so each Companion also carries a Vocabulary Log for the words that slow you down in the reading practice.

Vocabulary Log

One row per word: where you met it, the sentence it appeared in, your own definition, related forms, and a status (new · reviewed · used). It is the last part of the ACT, SAT, and GRE Companions, and it works on its own.

How to use it

Add a row for any word that slowed you down or that you could not define in your own words — from passages, questions, or answer choices.
Copy the sentence it appeared in, then write your own definition. If you guessed from context, note what told you.
Look the word up here, then come back to the list before the next practice set. Mark it Used once you have written or said it in a sentence of your own.
